NSW: Mundine denies he's decided to run for state parl

Former world champion boxer ANTHONY MUNDINE denies he ever confirmed he'll run for
the inner-western Sydney seat of Marrickville at next year's NSW state election.

MUNDINE reportedly announced his candidature for the seat in an address to Redfern's
Aboriginal community last night .. but he says it's to early to say that yet.

MUNDINE has previously indicated he's considering standing as an independent to stop
redevelopment of The Block housing area in Redfern .. which will fall under the Marrickville
electorate when the boundaries change.

He says he'll sit at some stage .. but hasn't decided if that's going to be at next
year's election.







Minister for Redfern-Waterloo FRANK SARTOR today released a statement saying the government
is finalising a draft Building Environment Plan for the area.

He says it will create around 18 thousand new jobs and construct two thousand new homes.
