Fed: Howard should focus on school solutions: Latham

CANBERRA, Jan 21 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard should solve problems in public schools
rather than running teachers down, Opposition leader Mark Latham said today.

Mr Howard angered school and parent groups by saying government schools were losing
numbers because they were too politically correct.

"He's sort of sitting there like a commentator talking about these things," Mr Latham
told ABC radio.

"He's the prime minister and I think he is obliged to be much more than just negative
about the schools, he's actually got to come up …
