Vic: Bandit pushes his luck in second time robbery

A 27-year-old Melbourne city shop attendant's been held up twice in two days in what
police believe is an attack by the same man.

The attendant warded off a knife-wielding assailant in a bungled robbery attempt at
about 8 o'clock this morning by hitting him with a plastic display case from the counter
top.

Police say the would-be robber is the same man who held up the same 24-hour convenience
store, on the corner of Swanston and Lonsdale streets, on Friday.
